Cameron Diaz became a superstar with “There’s Something About Mary.” Now she revealed which scene convinced her to make the film.
US actress Cameron Diaz made her big breakthrough in Hollywood in 1998 with the comedy “Crazy for Mary”. The 52-year-old told Vogue magazine: “When I read the script for the first time, I fell off the bed laughing.” A certain scene was crucial.
The script described her character Mary’s brother hitting another man in the neck, says Diaz. “For some reason I thought the idea of him punching him in the neck was the funniest thing. I laughed so hard I literally fell off the bed and I knew I had to do the movie.”
Diaz recently returned from a ten-year break from acting with the film “Back in Action”. The Netflix film starring Diaz and Jamie Foxx was viewed almost 50 million times worldwide in three days after its release last week.
