Ski racer Maria Höfl-Riesch and Marcus Höfl were married for 13 years, their divorce lasted 30 minutes: the 40-year-old and the manager, who is ten years her senior, have been officially separated since the beginning of this year. Höfl-Riesch is already in a new relationship, she has now confirmed this in an interview with the “Bild” newspaper. The ex-athlete loves Johann Schrempf, 62 years old and general manager on the luxury cruise ship MS Europa 2. “Yes, we are now officially a couple. It feels good,” said Höfl-Riesch. In November 2024, photos emerged showing her and Schrempf smooching at the Bambi Awards after-show party. “It wasn’t planned that way. But it happened and developed further. Now there’s nothing left to hide.”
She was happy “that something new worked out so quickly,” said Höfl-Riesch. “Johann and I just have great chemistry. We’re on the same wavelength, he makes me laugh. Very important: we have common interests. He skis well, goes on the mountain and of course he likes to travel – just like me. We they just fit together well.”

Höfl-Riesch revealed to the magazine “Gala” that she had known Johann Schrempf through mutual friends for over ten years. “We always got along really well and had a lot of fun together in our circle of friends, but a relationship was never an option because I was with Marcus and was happy. It wasn’t until the summer that things developed more when Marcus and I separated “Then it worked,” said the 40-year-old.
Her new partner and she are in a long-distance relationship. Johann Schrempf travels a lot for work reasons. That’s not always easy. “But we organize ourselves so that it fits somewhat.” At the turn of the year, Höfl-Riesch shared several photos on her Instagram account that showed her on a cruise on the MS Europa 2 in the South Seas – the ship on which Johann Schrempf works. She has already planned the next trip: “I’ll probably go on board with him again at the end of February. He’ll be back at the end of March,” said Höfl-Riesch.
