Federico Sturzenegger expressed his vision about the functions of a libertarian government, which included praise for Elon Musk. What did Guzmán tell him?
The former Minister of Economy Martin Guzman launched strong criticism against the Minister of Deregulation and Transformation of the State, Federico Sturzenegger, remarking that it is “tremendous stupidity” the idea of eliminating state areas related to housing construction.

After Sturzenegger’s tweet that generated widespread debate, Guzmán came out to cross it on social networks. “What Sturzenegger says about housing is tremendous stupidity, disconnected from reality. Is the market going to solve the housing problem for a 5-year-old child who grows up in overcrowded conditions? “What is the boy supposed to do, go to a bank and ask for a loan to buy a decent home, and as collateral for the loan offer his future work income?” wrote the former minister who accompanied Alberto Fernández during the first two years of management.

The economist also argued: “If the hypothesis that economic theory calls ‘perfect markets’ were valid, what @fedesturze says would make sense. But the world works differently. The absence of a housing policy probably condemns that boy to a very difficult futurewhile others who had other luck at birth have many more opportunities in life”
Sturzenegger’s statements on housing and public works
The crossover arose from a video where Sturzenegger expressed his vision about the functions of a libertarian government. In his speech, he noted:
“We do not believe that the national government should build houses, Therefore, we eliminated the area and ministry that is dedicated to housing. Basically, we ask what each area of the government does and if it does not correspond to the functions of a libertarian government, we close that area,” remarked the national official.
Sturzenegger also referred to Elon Musk as inspiration to simplify the State: “If Elon Musk called me for a recommendation, I would tell him that the key is not to make what already exists more efficient, but to ask whether what the government is doing should exist in the first place.”

The economist added: ““Freedom is a value that should be pursued on its own merits, and part of that involves redefining what the state should and should not do.”
