Late singer Sinéad O’Connor urged her children to “milk their music for all they’re worth” financially.
The legacy of Sinéad O’Connor (1966-2023) has been clarified.
The singer, who died in 2023, left her estate to her children. The assets, equivalent to 1.6 million euros, will be divided among her three children Roisin Waters (28), Yeshua Bonadio (18) and Jake Reynolds (37), according to Irish estate documents.
Children should “milk their music for all it’s worth”
At the time of her death, the singer still had assets worth the equivalent of two million euros, but this would shrink due to debts, legal fees and funeral costs. In her last will and testament, she asked her children to “milk their music for all they’re worth” financially. The mother of four had sold 6.2 million albums worldwide.
O’Connor had already signed the documents in 2013. She also arranged for her youngest child, Yeshua Bonadio, to receive her guitar collection. Her ex-husband, John Reynolds, was named executor. The two married in 1987 and separated in 1991.
Cause of death: lung disease and asthma
O’Connor was found “unresponsive” in an apartment in London on July 26, 2023. Her death was announced in the evening. The cause of death was the consequences of chronic lung disease and asthma. The singer was also heartbroken that her son Shane took his own life in 2022 at the age of 17.
