Alexander Klaws has returned to his signature role of Tarzan in the musical of the same name after eight years to much applause.
Alexander Klaws (41) is back on the musical stage. On Saturday evening (January 25th), the first DSDS winner celebrated his comeback as Tarzan in the Disney musical of the same name at the sold-out Stage Palladium Theater in Stuttgart. The actor was seen in his signature role again for the first time in almost eight years.
And his comeback was obviously convincing: a press release mentions standing ovations and never-ending applause. The local press also praised the performance and reported thunderous applause. The “Stuttgarter Nachrichten”: “The Stuttgart audience is amazing, it was out of this world.”
There were also prominent guests in the audience such as DSDS jury member Shona Fraser (49), “Let’s Dance” participant Nicolas Puschmann (33), SWR presenter Tatjana Geßler (52) and actor Lukas Sauer (33).
In the piece, in which Klaws played the jungle hero for the first time in 2010, the 41-year-old sings the songs of Phil Collins (73) and, among other things, swings through the auditorium at a height of 17 meters. “Of course you have to train an incredible amount because the choreographies in the air demand a lot from you,” says Klaws about his role.
Through “Tarzan” Klaws met the love of his life
The musical also permanently changed the actor’s life in his private life. On the show he met his great love Nadja Scheiwiller (39), with whom he has been married since 2019 and now has three children. “She played Jane back then – and taught me how to fly as my flight trainer,” remembers Klaws in the press release. “Playing the show again for the first time after such a long time was very moving. I also thought very much of my eldest son Lenny, who always wanted to see me as Tarzan and was excited during my training phase and the rehearsal period. “
