The former professional boxer Regina Halmich was a lively child. This also caused problems as a valet. But the 48-year-old finally equalized martial arts.
Boxing world champion Regina Halmich helped to rest as a child. “I was pretty restless, couldn’t sit in a long time,” said the 48-year-old in an interview with the “Bild” newspaper. “I always had to be an action.” The former professional boxer described herself as Ronja Robber’s Daughter.
That was the case even during her time as a valet. In the beginning, her mother was proud of her. “Then she said that she couldn’t concentrate on the sermon if she saw me fidget around there.” She then switched to the scouts, said Halmich.
According to the world champion, calm only returned when she started with judo and karate. “I became more balanced, I was able to concentrate better.” When she finally ended up boxing, she was “fire and flame,” said the 48-year-old. Every day after school and homework she went to the boxing hall.
