Maite, Angelo, Joey Kelly and Co. also have some siblings who are less well known. Like Caroline, who became a nurse.
The Kelly Family is one of the most famous music groups in Germany. But not all members of the large family decided on a music career. Caroline Kelly (born 1962), for example, left the band in 1982 after eight years – long before her big breakthrough – and took a life away from the spotlight.
Animal-loving pensioner
As “Bild” reported, citing the magazine “Die Aktuelle”, Caroline Kelly, who is relatively unknown to fans, is doing well even without a mega music career. She worked as a nurse and now lives as a retiree in the small town of Littleton in the US state of Massachusetts. The American-born woman, who lives separately from her husband and has no children, has a special love for animals and, like her siblings, is very religious. The cat owner regularly goes to church and gets involved in Christian community life.
Caroline Kelly is the eldest daughter of family head Dan Kelly (1930-2002). Like Kathy Kelly (61), she comes from his marriage to his first wife Janice (1935-2018). She was a Kelly Family member from the very beginning and played guitar and accordion with the “Kelly Kids” until the early 80s. She is said to have taught her younger sister Patricia (55) to play the guitar. It is said that she still enjoys making music privately to this day.
At times, Caroline Kelly was even considered missing in public after she left the band. But in 2022 she reappeared after a long time and was even seen in the RTLzwei documentary “The Kelly Family – The Journey Continues”. In Rome she sang with her family in front of the Spanish Steps. “That feeling of ‘we’ as siblings came back,” enthused her half-brother Joey Kelly (52) afterwards.
