“The approach to him was from sympathy. There is something strange that always happened with him: when someone bizarre that you don’t know shows up at a party, he is not always accepted first. And Fabián achieved that, people turned on from the start. Seeing it was a lot of fun,” Ceballos explained to La Voz. .
Regarding the film, the filmmaker stated, “We focused on the story of a guy who wanted to fulfill his dream of being a singer, and his form turned out well. But he was a normal person who ended up becoming someone ‘out of the ordinary’. I personally do not do ironic consumption of any kind, with him I had serious fun.
The documentary project began in 2017, and managed to collect the testimonies of the artist’s closest family and friends. It was a job with a lot of effort that took 5 years to finish. “We were filming in parts, always tripping and looking for a way around to get to the next day of shooting. We are independent, our budget was nil and the viewer must understand the difficulties we face”, said Ceballos.
