After the turbulent months surrounding her divorce from Ben Affleck (52), Jennifer Lopez (55) is in great spirits at the Sundance Film Festival. She presented her latest work “Kiss of the Spider Woman” on Sunday at what is probably the most important premiere platform for indie films. The musical received a standing ovation after its premiere in Park City, Utah. According to “The Hollywood Reporter”, the applause even brought tears of emotion to Jennifer Lopez.
The actress made a special impression with her outfit, which was perfectly tailored to the film. Lopez stunned in a sheer Valdrin Sahiti dress decorated with sparkling rhinestones in the shape of a spider’s web. The look was complemented by platform high heels, which perfectly rounded off her glamorous appearance.
“Waited for this all my life”
On stage, Jennifer Lopez described her performance in the musical as something she’d been “waiting for her whole life.” After all, she wanted to be an actress ever since she saw musical adaptations like “West Side Story” on television with her mother as a child.
Although J.Lo is also successful as a singer, “Kiss of the Spider Woman” is actually her first musical. It is based on the film “Kiss of the Spider Woman” (1985), for which William Hurt (1950-2022) won the Oscar for Best Actor. The film is in turn inspired by the book of the same name by the Argentine Manuel Puig (1932-1990).
Spontaneous singing performance in the club
The day before the premiere, Jennifer Lopez celebrated at a club in Park City. “She arrived in a good mood and went straight to her table, where she danced and sang for the first part of the evening,” an eyewitness revealed. According to the New York Post gossip site, the DJ eventually spotted the famous guest and played her hit “Jenny from the Block”.
J.Lo sang along to her 2002 song and then took the stage. Behind the DJ booth she then sang one of her other hits, “All I Have”. Impressions of the evening.
