The family is in shock: Susanne von Bülow, the daughter of the legendary comedian Loriot, died unexpectedly of heart failure at the age of just 66.
This news causes consternation: Susanne von Bülow, one of the two daughters of the unforgettable humorist Vicco von Bülow alias Loriot (1923-2011), has died at the age of just 66.
Her older sister Bettina von Bülow (70): “My sister died of a cardiac arrest a week ago on Sunday. It’s a big shock.” She’s not feeling well and now wants to say goodbye to her again: “I can’t say anything more at the moment, her death is very close to me.”
Her partner Michael R. (66) also spoke about Susanne von Bülow’s death in a short statement: “Susanne passed away suddenly and unexpectedly for all of us. We are all shocked and in deep sadness.” Susanne von Bülow was last seen at the Berlinale in February 2023, where she presented the film “Loriot’s Great Animated Film Revue”.
Susanne von Bülow wanted to renovate Loriot’s villa
Until her death, she lived in Loriot’s former studio in Ammerland, Bavaria, right next to the family’s main home, which she is said to have recently renovated. She had moved there after a long time in Italy before her father’s death to look after her parents.
Together with her sister, she also managed her famous father’s artistic legacy. The trained graphic designer initially worked at the Diogenes publishing house and later learned restoration. For 30 years she commuted between her parents’ home in Ammerland and Italy before settling entirely in Bavaria. According to the newspaper, Susanne von Bülow will be buried next to her father in the family grave in the cemetery on Berlin’s Heerstrasse.
