Janson, who grew up in Mainz and Wiesbaden, among others, was already on the theater school stage at a young age. He attended an acting school in Wiesbaden and was on stage in the State Theater. In 1959 he played in the “Buddenbrooks” film. In the 1960s and 1970s he was also seen in international productions such as “Two Kerle from Granit” with Tony Curtis (1925-2010) or “Two Wilde Companeros” with Franco Nero (83).
In his TV career, he was known for the series “Salto Mortale” or the film series “under White Sailing”. He also appeared in the 1980s as a “Horst” in the children’s program “Sesame Straße”. Horst Janson has been married to Hella Ruthardt in a second marriage since 1982. Previously, in 1973 he closed the BUND for life with Monika Lundi, like a film and TV actress. The marriage broke three years later. Janson had to struggle with health problems. Among other things, he suffered a slight stroke last summer.
