The start of the resumption procedure cannot be quick enough. He apparently hopes for a timely release.
Harvey Weinstein (72) apparently does everything possible to have the resumption process planned for mid -April of this year due to sexual crimes. In a hearing in this regard, the responsible judge Curtis J. Farber urgently asked for it on Wednesday: “I do not stand it. I beging it to move the date. I would like to get out of this hell hole.”
Weinstein’s bad health is cited as the reason for the application. In October last year, US sites unanimously reported that the 72-year-old was diagnosed with a form of leukemia. In December he was moved to the Bellevue Hospital for urgent treatment in December and “due to an alarming blood test result that requires immediate medical treatment.
It was the third time in a few months that Weinstein was hospitalized. In July he was on Covid-19 and then suffered from pneumonia, in September he had to put up with an emergency operation.
A lawsuit against New York submitted
The fallen filmmogul, the case of which triggered the worldwide #Metoo debate, submitted a lawsuit against the state of New York because of the supposedly poor conditions of detention in November.
Weinstein was convicted of sex crimes in New York and California. In April, however, an appellate court took over the New York judgment of 2020 over 23 years in prison due to procedural errors. If Weinstein has no success with its current request for pre -laying, the case will be re -rolled up again from April 15 of this year.
Because Weinstein was sentenced to 16 years in prison in a separate procedure in Los Angeles in 2023, he is still in prison despite the resumption procedure. He has already appealed against this judgment.
