Dizziness on stage – Patti Smith calms her fans
Patti Smith causes a stir with a departure from the stage – but her fans shouldn’t worry: “I’m fine”.
In her own words, the musician and author Patti Smith left the stage at a performance in São Paulo because she has become dizzy – and now calms her fans. “I’m fine,” wrote the 78-year-old in a post on Instagram. An exaggerated representation was spread in the media and on social networks. The trigger for her dizziness was a migraine.
After her departure, she came back on stage. “I was examined by an excellent doctor and everything was fine,” wrote Smith. According to a report by the Brazilian daily newspaper “Folha de S. Paulo”, Smith crashed on Wednesday evening as she read a text and was pushed back onto the stage in a wheelchair.
The musician had planned two appearances with the Berlin Soundwalk Collective in São Paulo.
