Jon Hamm is known for the drama series “Mad Men”. At a award ceremony on the campus of the venerable Harvard university, he now had to prove humor.
US actor Jon Hamm (53) was celebrated by the theater group of the venerable Harvard University as the “man of the year”. Hamm, known from the drama series “Mad Men”, accepted the unusual “Hasty Pudding” price in the form of a pudding pot in Cambridge (US state of Massachusetts). Students of the theater group, in costumes and with wigs, puffs with Hamm on stage.
The “Hasty Pudding” price for the man and the wife of the year is organized with funny actions and parades in the old tradition. On February 5, “Wicked” star Cynthia Erivo (38) is to be celebrated as this year’s “wife of the year”.
Emmy winner Hamm played the drinking man and womanizer Don Draper in the drama series “Mad Men” (2007 to 2015). In recent years he has been seen in other drama series such as “Fargo” and “The Morning Show”. He also played in films such as “Baby Driver”, “Top Gun: Maverick” or “No Sudden Move”.
The “Hasty Pudding” award has been awarded for “permanent and impressive contributions in the world of entertainment” since the 1950s. Annette Bening and Barry Keoghan were honored last year. Among the former recipients are stars such as Halle Berry, Helen Mirren, Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep, Sandra Bullock, Ryan Reynolds, Martin Scorsese, Robert de Niro, Harrison Ford and Tom Hanks.
