This is how the Dresden “Tatort” team continues

On Sunday evening it was seen: “Tatort” commissioner Karin Gorniak acknowledges her service. She needs a break, she tells her boss. Does the Dresden team get female replacement now?
In the future, Cornelia Gröschel (37) and Martin Brambach (57) in the “Tatort” from Dresden will only investigate in the duo. The first two crime novels without Karin Hanczewski (43), who announced their exit in May 2023, have already been shot. On Sunday evening the last case ran with her: “Heart of darkness”. Commissioner Leonie Winkler and her boss Peter Michael Schnabel will solve their first case in pairs at the end of 2025 on TV.
A new occupation is not in sight. The Mitteldeutsche Rundfunk (MDR) is currently looking for a replacement for Karin Gorniak, Winkler and Schnabel for the time being, “says a spokesman for the broadcaster.
Brambach and Gröschel are missing acting colleague Hanczewski, professionally and privately. “This is something completely different,” says Martin Brambach, who has been playing the head of commissioner Schnabel since the first episode in 2016, about the now decimated femininity.
“In particular, my figure lived a bit from the resistance of the other figures.” Now he focuses more on the focus, has to help out more. “It’s nice and I also enjoy it when you have a little more to do.”
Brambach: Maybe Ms. Schnabel will appear now
To tell private stories of the commissioners, but Brambach thinks little of that, “if they don’t have anything to do with the case,” he says. “But maybe Ms. Schnabel will appear and we will find out what he is suffering from at home.”
The handling of Schnabel and Winkler will change something, he reveals. “The somewhat paternal relationship will turn a little in a different direction; this will be exciting.”
Gröschel reports about melancholy and sadness in the last shooting of three. “It was always a bit like a family reunion and Karin like a sister that I haven’t seen for a long time”. By leaving Karin Hanczewski, Martin Brambach and they grown together a lot more closely. “We are all for the fact that she will come back again at some point.”
Return of Hanczewski not entirely excluded
Hanczewski, who left the “crime scene” after 18 episodes for new things and just finished a long shoot for a project, would have nothing against a return – at some point. “I could very well imagine coming back for a episode if it fits the team and for the film,” she says.
The unspectacular “crime scene” party was her wish. “After all the things that Gorniak has experienced – several times and almost died – I find it humanly decide to take a different way and to see what life actually has to offer.” It is “a nice and strong decision, a quiet, yet powerful farewell”.
