Wollny family head Silvia turns 60 on February 5. In the interview, she reveals what is important to her on her day of honor.
Silvia Wollny will be 60 years old on February 5. Since 2011 you and your extended family have been accompanied by the camera for the documentary soap “Die Wollnys – a terribly large family” (Wednesdays from 8:15 p.m. at RTLZWE). In the interview, Silvia Wollny tells what secret secret she sees behind the format and what changes the shipment has already accompanied. The Elfach mother also reveals what she wants to give to her children and grandchildren and how she will spend her milestone birthday.
Congratulations on your 60th birthday. What have you planned for your big day of honor?
Silvia Wollny: Thank you very much! To be honest, I didn’t plan anything big for my milestone birthday. For me it is a day like everyone else – but who knows, maybe my family organized a surprise for me? The most important thing is to spend time with the people who are close to my heart.
That means you celebrate with the family?
Wollny: Yes, if at all, then in a small circle with the family (laughs). I am less about celebrating, but rather about spending a great time with my loved ones.
If you look back on your life, what have been the most beautiful and formative moments so far?
Wollny: When I look back on my life, there were so many beautiful and special moments – it is difficult to pick up some. Many of these moments can also be seen in our program “Die Wollnys – a terribly large family”. The biggest gift for me is my children and grandchildren.
Is there one thing that you want to give your children and grandchildren for your life?
Wollny: Yes, an important thing that I want to give my children and grandchildren is to listen to their gut feeling and not blindly trust everyone. Words are said quickly, but they are deeds that really count. I wish you that you have people around who honestly mean it – and that you always have the strength to go your own way.
You know her as a strong woman and mother. Are there still moments when they too are weak?
Wollny: Yes, of course. I have my weakest moments when my children are not doing well – that is right for me. As a mother, you always wear worries, no matter how old the children are. But I try to stay strong and to be there for you.
In the meantime, her documentary soap has been running at RTLZWEI for over a decade. Currently again with new episodes on Wednesdays at 8:15 p.m. What is the secret of success?
Wollny: I think the success lies in the fact that we are simply ourselves. We show real life, with all its ups and downs. Not everything runs perfectly in a large family, but it still works with love and cohesion. And it is important to us to show that everyone goes their own way and nobody should judge others. In the end, we are all just people with our own stories.
They have been in the spotlight for many years. How did you change?
Wollny: To be honest, I personally didn’t change myself so much. I am still the same Silvia that I used to be – with the same values and the same attitude to life. Of course, our family life has developed: the children have grown up, some have founded families themselves and are now playing the role of mom. It’s nice to see how you go your own way – like Estefania with her music. These are the changes that life brings with it, and I’m just proud of how everyone develops.
Now a new decade of life begins for you. What else is on your to-do list?
Wollny: Oh, there is still a lot on the to-do list. Life remains exciting and we still have a lot of plans. But what exactly happens will not be revealed yet – let yourself be surprised! In any case, there are still some highlights that you can look forward to at the Wollnys.
