Kristin Davis played in the “Melrose Place” series before her role in “Sex and the City”. On the set, a “difficult mood” had prevailed “as far as being thin.”
“Sex and the City” star Kristin Davis said a strict diet for her role in the US youth series “Melrose Place”, because she even fainted. Although she had good memories of her acting colleagues at the time, the set had a “difficult mood” on the set, “as far as being thin,” reports the 59-year-old to the US magazine “People”.
“Every single person was beautiful and super thin,” she says. So she thought she had to keep up. Therefore, she had been doing sports all the time and at the same time it was certain that she “didn’t eat” at the time, she said. Once she felt dazed and “passed out in a parking lot”. “Sometimes I couldn’t remember my name,” said Davis.
She learned from a colleague that the producers of the series were not satisfied with their weight. When she confronted the manufacturing manager, he said that she was beautiful but should “simply not gain weight”. This type of behavior was “quite normal” on the set at the time, said Davis. “If you had hips, it was an issue.”
“Melrose Place” ran in the USA from 1992 to 1999, and in addition to Davis, Alyssa Milano and Heather Locklear played.
