The youth are lazy and the language is overlooked: older people keep going hard to court with the young generation. Roland Kaiser protects the youth – because he remembers his own.
Pop singer Roland Kaiser (72) defends the younger generation against criticism of people of his age – for example when it comes to youth language or the trend towards gender. “We were exactly the same. We broke up against the establishment and the older ones and also spoke another language. That is normal, language changes,” said the musician of the German press agency, born in Münster.
“If the same age tell me today that they would not be clear, I say: ‘Try it! You no longer speak like under Goethe and Schiller.’ Language changes, fashion changes.
He keeps trying to defend the youth and put it in the right light. “Because too many people tell me that today’s youth is lazy and would do nothing. That is not true.”
Kaiser: My children enrich me
His children would help him stay up to date, said Kaiser. “They are more trained in many things than myself, especially in social and digital media. I am completely inferior. But I can do other things better. And if you meet in the middle and can enrich each other wonderful.”
The cult singer, at the concerts of which many young people also go, publishes his 29th album “Marathon” today. The 72-year-old is planning an arena tour, open-air concerts and his legendary “Kaisermania” appearances in Dresden for this year.
