Roland Kaiser publishes his new studio album “Marathon”. In the interview, he talks about his career path and optimism.

Roland Kaisers (72) New album “Marathon” will be released on February 7th. In an interview with the news agency Spot on News, the singer tells what to what extent a marathon fits his life and how he deals with his full schedule. In addition, the hit star speaks across all generations, his family, who actively supports him at his concerts and his 73rd birthday, which he actually didn’t want to spend on stage.

How was the work on her new album “Marathon”, which was created again in the Berlin Hansa Studios, what were the biggest challenges?

Roland Kaiser: We, i.e. my arranger Alex Wende and Lee Caspi and I, always set goals that we say we want to sound as internationally, up to date and contemporary. The real challenge is to combine sound and arrangement -related ideas, which are strongly shaped by American pop. Fortunately, we had support from Sound mixer Michael Ilbert, who has already worked for international sizes such as Coldplay, Adele and Taylor Swift and mixed some of our songs. This encourages us to ensure that we are on the right track.

With “I will be there” or “don’t say a word”, the album has some comfortable and confident songs for your fans. Where do you always find confidence yourself and how do you keep your optimism?

Kaiser: This optimism is innate to me. I always have the feeling that my glass is always half full and not half empty. So, I am a very positive person and I’m actually always optimistic.

There is also a remake of the rose stump classic “Love is everything” on the work. Why did the song make it to the album?

Kaiser: Peter Plate, the composer of this song, called me last summer and asked if I would take the song on the song because he will go on tour with the musical Romeo and Julia next year. And the key song, the most important song on the album or the musical, will be: “Love is everything”. Since I think the song is really great, I said: “Yes, gladly! I try to do this into my song, as far as I can.” And I think the implementation worked.

With a marathon it is important to fight through and not to give up. At which points of your career did you experience something similar? Have you ever thought about giving up?

Kaiser: openly said: no. It is like this: If you start a career, you don’t know whether it will be a sprint, a medium -range run or a marathon. And if you are very lucky, you can run a marathon – and I was lucky. But I never thought about stopping or giving up.

To what extent does a marathon fit your life?

Kaiser: Endurance and perseverance are also part of my character, and I am a person who concerns things in the long term and thinks in the long term and does not constantly try to get changes.

The last year has also shown that you are talking about many generations with your songs and young and old are also represented at your concerts. How do you experience your cross -generational success and how do you explain it?

Kaiser: I think that is because both the boys and the older people to me what I do, lose and believe. This is probably the logical key to success.

In 2025 there is a lot for you again. The arena tour, summer open air, the Kaisermania concerts. Are you sometimes afraid that it will be too much for you?

Kaiser: I don’t have, no! It is well timed, and the tour, i.e. the live music, is the crowning glory of my job. That’s why that’s not too much for me. No, it’s beautiful.

Who or what ensures that everything goes smoothly and as stress -free as possible at your concerts?

Kaiser: A lot of people. We have Semmel Concerts Entertainment as a tour organizer, technical staff who works wonderfully, we have a wonderful tour manager and I have a great musical director and a functioning band. In the internal team I am traveling with my wife, who also ensures that I can concentrate on work on stage. In this respect, many around me ensure that everything goes over stress -free.

Do you still have enough time for your family with the full schedule, will you maybe accompany you at your concerts?

Kaiser: Sure, yes. My wife is there and my daughter usually comes along because she is responsible for social media work. In the meantime, together with her brothers, she has a merchandising company that accompanies me on top of that and edited and supervised the merchandising of me. In this respect, everyone is traveling together.

Can you still pursue hobbies and how do you keep fit?

Kaiser: My hobby is my work, and otherwise I do sports in my fitness room every day, and that keeps me fit.

On May 10th they will be 73 years old, and on the day they will be on stage. A conscious decision from you to celebrate with your fans in Hamburg?

Kaiser: I slipped through it and I noticed it too late. My concert organizer booked that, and then I only noticed it later. This is actually uncomfortable for me because if so many people suddenly started singing there, I would get a red head.

They do not rest on what was achieved. When do you think you came to shorter?

Kaiser: I can’t say that because I’m not a clairvoyant. As long as I’m fine, I’m healthy and people are interested in what we do, I will simply continue working.
