Xenia of Saxony: The Princess sings again

After her last excursions to reality TV, Xenia Princess of Saxony (38) returns to her roots as a singer: the 38-year-old becomes the new front woman from SQEEZER. The band landed some Eurodance hits in the middle of the 1990s, including “Blue Jeans”.

Xenia of Saxony sees itself as a perfect line -up for the job. “I’m exhausting in normal life. I would actually have to live on a stage so that everyone is fine” ,.

For the self -proclaimed “confetti anone”, the commitment to SQEEZer is not the first musical excursion. In 2004 the great -grandson of the last Saxon king, Friedrich August III. With her she appeared at the casting show “Popstars”. Her first single appeared in 2020: a cover version by Helene Fischers (40) over hit “Breathless through the night” – in Japanese!

Xenia von Sachsen’s bandmate at SQEEZER are Andreas Butscheidt and Pravit Anantapongse. The latter was a dancer of Sarah Connor (44) and has a son with her sister Anna-Maria Ferchichi (43).

However, the new line-up around Xenia of Saxony has nothing to do with the original line-up of SQEEZER. The history of the band ended in a sad way nine years ago. Founding member Jim Reeves was found dead in a hostel in Berlin on February 1, 2016. Two guests from Poland are said to have tortured the then 47-year-old bisexual singer in a multi-bed room for homophobic reasons; Reeves died of his inner injuries.

Reeves, a cousin by Viva moderator Mola Adebisi (51), founded Sqeezer in 1995 together with Yvonne Spath (45), but the singer got out in the same year. It was replaced by Loretta “Lori” Stern (50). The later moderator of “Bravo TV” rose again in 2001, and since then the band has changed the cast several times. Only Reeves remained a constant until his death.

The new SQEEZER formation around Xenia of Saxony wants to honor Jim Reeves’ legacy. “I also believe that he would have wanted it to be remembered so and not as a victim of such a terrible murder,” said the princess to RTL.
