Jermaine Kothé won “Germany’s Next Top Model” in 2024. How he did and what he is planning now.
Last year he went into TV history: Jermaine Kokoú Kothé (19) was the first man to win the ProSieben show “Germany’s Next Top Model”. Today he works successfully as a model and influencer. He was currently running over the catwalk for Marcel Osterag at the Berlin Fashion Week. This year he also wants to publish his own brand.
Women and men are also allowed to compete in the 20th edition of Heidi Klum’s successful model show (51), which starts on February 13th at ProSieben or Joyn. Jermaine should be a great role model for them – because he has been traveling a lot since his victory and is booked for campaigns and television programs.
Between catwalk and talk show
A highlight: Like his co-winner Lea Oude (25), he ran in summer at Berlin Fashion Week for Kilian Kerner (45). Among other things, this was followed by an appearance in the TV talk “Deep and clearly”. On, who now has more than 76,000 followers, Jermaine revealed that he absolutely wanted to go on the show to tell his story there. It was “like a little dream”. “When I got the request for the format in August, I didn’t even think about a second and agreed directly. I dedicate this talk to my mom, who was always there for me, always supported and encouraged me, no matter how hard and difficult It was alone at home. “
Jermaine grew up with his mother in Melsungen near Kassel. He dreamed of a life in public early on and had one or two photo shoots. With “GNTM” he really licked model blood, it was like the air for him to breathe. “It was great for me, super good,” he drew a positive conclusion in early 2025. Participating in “GNTM” was “one of the best decisions in my life and also one of the best times in my life”. His advantage is that he won as a man. That’s why he gets so many jobs that he can live from modeling and as a content creator. “I run a lot and modeling is already something different. It is very, very much at the moment, but I’m always all in, I’m not doing anything under 110 percent.”
After the final he almost fell into a hole
With all the effort, he tries to pay attention to himself. “I meditate a lot and am also in therapy.” Mental health is an important topic. “It is so important that you get help when you need it or pay attention to yourself as a precaution. I was also about to slip into a hole.” That was shortly after the final. “When I won, there was such a huge hype. Louder interviews, everyone was floated around a. After that, it was flattened and I asked myself what was coming now.” It is still “totally surreal” for him what he experienced in 2024. He would probably only realize this later, in old age.
Jermain currently enjoys his success. He is also looking forward to “that I bring out my own fire and overall to the next year that comes. And about every new person who follows me on my trip”. He did not yet want to reveal too many details about his own brand, which is supposed to revolve around the topic of face. But he announces: “In any case, it will be something aesthetic, beautiful, Jermainy.”
