Claudia Obert returns to “Celebrities under palm trees” after the bullying drama. The Society Lady takes it calmly: “I’m still alive.”
Claudia Obert (63) once again dares: The iconic reality TV candidate and high-society lady takes part in “Celebrities under palms” a second time. On February 17 (every Monday at 8:15 p.m.), the format in Thailand will start again after a four -year break in Sat.1. As a reminder: Obert was also there in season 2020 and voluntarily got out after it had become relentless bullying.
With their fellow candidates, including the Lotto millionaire Chico (44), “DSDS” singer Menowin Fröhlich (37) as well as the reality star Iris Klein (57) and Melody Haase (30), it should be under the second attempt Palmen get better. Claudia Obert no longer deals with the past, as she clarifies in an interview with Spot on News. Instead, she is ready for party – and lets herself be surprised at which facet the viewers get to see.
When they first participated in “Celebrities under palm trees”, they became victims of nasty bullying attacks. How do you look back on today?
Claudia Obert: It wasn’t that bad. I still live. This is something like that, we say, “Usual Business”. You can’t see that so closely. This is war history, that’s not my life. My life is so successful and so pleasant. I am the boss. And if you get involved with such an adventure, you have to count on everything.
How are you talking about your fellow candidates today?
Obert: We are not a family, I don’t have to be permanently dealing with them. You go out there and conclude with it.
Didn’t you be afraid that such a dynamic will develop again?
Obert: So if you go into such formats, you have to count on everything, even with verbal derailments. This is the business.
Is there anything you want to do different this time? Have you prepared mentally or emotionally differently?
Obert: If you go into such formats, then you will let it all come up. It’s like life. If you go outside the door these days, you have to expect that you will be attacked. I’ve already participated so many formats. My mindset is always: there is a left limit and a right limit, but you have to count on everything.
What do you say about your fellow candidates? Do you have someone on the Kieker from the start?
Obert: No, I can’t say that. I usually have no fear of contact, but I also have no warm feelings for someone. Except for Melody, I took them to my heart. It is so wonderfully unconventional. The girl, the little one, you just have to love it.
While you have a good time, your partner Max is waiting for you at home. How does he support you with your TV shows?
Obert: He doesn’t care. There is a lot of fun for me, but he doesn’t have to have anything like that.
Would you like more support?
Obert: Let’s say my mother didn’t support me there. The fact that I participate in such formats is a decision from myself that spontaneously came into my life. Most people shake their heads a bit. I am also very unconventional. It is a change in my life that not everyone supports.
At “Celebrities under palms” there is also a lot of party on the program. Are you still so happy or is it enough for you at some point?
Obert: The area is so large – and if someone flips freely somewhere, let it! I am right now in St. Tropez, so you experience completely different things, how people freak out when they are lit and celebrate. So party has never been too much for me.
In public, you like to represent yourself as an absolute pleasure person with a loose tongue. Can you also show another side?
Obert: A circle has 360 degrees. I mean, I have had a company for 35 years and do a few million sales every year. You have to take some things really seriously and you can not only always unlock. As I said, a person has many facets. And sometimes you see one facet and sometimes the other. You also have moods, as you are sometimes dressed in a single color and sometimes completely patterned. I have a lot of facets. They come to light spontaneously depending on the location of the season.
