Til Schweiger’s companies should be bankrupt – that is behind it

Actually, Til Schweiger is still considered Germany’s most successful filmmaker. After all, his last strip “Manta, Manta – Zwoter part” could lure many spectators into the cinemas again. But there was already a public scandal for its production. It was about power and alcohol abuse, which made the positive picture of the star to falter. According to information from the magazine “Bunte”, Schweiger’s Barefoot Management Holding GmbH, under which he bundles several companies, goes out the money. Founded in July 2015, the report was initiated after the end of last year. In the Federal Gazette, the official announcement body of the Ministry of Justice, creditors are now asked to register their claims. The Barefoot Holding is said to have recently suffered balance sheet losses of 193,090 euros and 272,089 euros, while the liabilities were almost half a million euros.

While Schweiger first celebrated success for many years as an actor and later as a producer and director, he continued to expand his empire. At some point, he not only offered clothes, accessories and furniture, but also owned several gastronomic companies, such as a hotel in Mallorca, a luxury hostel in Timmendorf, the Hamburg restaurant “Barefood Deli” and “Henry Likes Pizza” pizzerias. On top of that, he brought his own wines under the names of his daughters and a beer called “Tils”. Now it seems that he may have taken over with all of this in the end.

One example is his now dissolved company “Barefoot Living”, which sold furniture and clothing. According to “Bunte” research, she left a loss of balance of almost 800,000 euros, the debts should add up to over one million euros. And apparently it is not said to have been the only company in the holding company that had to give up.

Schweiger’s Hamburg restaurant is closed, as is the pizzerias. His beer also no longer exists – the Maisel brewery, which was cooperating with him, confirmed this from some time ago. Schweiger’s wines have also disappeared from the market. And at the request of “Bunte”, another company that worked with Schweiger first explained that the partnership was “put on hold”. Most recently, Til Schweiger had made headlines primarily due to his battered state of health. After a sepsis, he is said to have temporarily threatened the amputation of a leg. Then followed a prostate surgery.

When he finally appeared in public, it was for a commercial for “Blockchain Sports” in the Belarusian capital Minsk. Schweiger said that he only heard “the best things” about Belarus. However, Minsk is one of the closest allies of the Russian ruler Vladimir Putin. The elections in the country are unfree and are classified as sham elections for manipulation.
