Radio test: Great joy at Life Radio and ORF

With a market share of eleven percent and a daily reach of 14.8 percent, Life Radio is the most popular private radio station in the state. 177,000 listeners tune in every day. Program director Matthias Dietinger is happy about this: “A mega award from our fans! They hear us from morning to night and love the perfect music mix and our regionality across all areas, from news to entertainment.”

Radio Oberösterreich is also satisfied: 352,000 people listen to the range of programmes. With a market share of 26 percent, ORF radio remains number one in the state. “We are taking on the challenges of the future with great enthusiasm, will consistently implement the digital change in the state studio and want to tailor our linear program offerings even better to our audience and also appeal to new groups of listeners,” says state director Klaus Obereder.

Ö3 is the most listened to station

The daily reach of radio stations in the general population fell to 75.2 percent in the previous year compared to 75.7 percent in 2020. The daily listening time also decreased. The radio ran an average of 188 minutes a day – eight minutes shorter than in 2020 (196 minutes). The ORF radio stations decreased in terms of total daily reach (2021: 59.6 percent; 2020: 61.6 percent), the private stations increased (2021: 27.7 percent; 2020: 26.6 percent). The most listened-to station is still Ö3 with a reach of 30.9 percent (31.1 percent).
