Alleged Caribbean trip

William and Kate not guests at BAFTAS

The BAFTAS take place this Sunday: but without William and Kate. The royals are supposed to vacation in the Caribbean.

Prince William (42) and Princess Kate (43) will be missing from the BAFTA awards in London this Sunday (February 16). William, the President of the British Academy of Film and Television Arts, and the Princess of Wales are not present at the award ceremony due to a vacation. Instead, they and their three children, Prince George (11), Princess Charlotte (9) and Prince Louis (6), should spend a break on the private island of Mustique in the Caribbean.

These royals already visited the island

The British Royals are said to have flown on vacation on Thursday. They are said to have come in the Business Class of a flight of the British Airways. According to an anonymous source, they flown to the Caribbean St. Lucia and then took a private flight to the island of Mustique.

This was known as the retreat of Princess Margaret (1930-2002). Her sister, Queen Elizabeth II (1926-2022), and her husband Prince Philip (1921-2021) are also among the royal visitors. According to the “Mail on Sunday”, they were guests on the island in 1966, 1977, and 1985.

Last joint BAFTA appearance 2023

The Kensington Palace confirmed last Monday (February 10) that William and Kate would not take part in the award ceremony. Nevertheless, the prince should be seen in a kind of “video package” as part of the awards.

In 2024, the Prince visited the award ceremony, which was acted as the British Oscar ceremony, but at that time without Kate, which had been operated on in the abdomen a month earlier. In 2023, the couple showed themselves together on the red carpet of the awards for the first time since 2020. In contrast, 2021 and 2022 did not take part in the event. The reason for this was the death of William’s grandfather, Prince Philip. A year later, they had to cancel for “scheduled reasons”.
