Kim Sae-Ron: Actress died at the age of 24

The South Korean actress Kim Sae-Ron (2000-2025) was found dead in her house in Seoul on Sunday. She was only 24 years old. About two years ago, according to the report, she had largely withdrawn from the public after a conviction for drunkenness at the wheel.

The actress’s body was discovered by a friend, as CNN reports, citing the local police. There are no signs of a crime, the authorities say. The studies on the death should continue.

Kim started her career as a child actress at a young age. At first she caused a sensation with her role in the film “A completely new life” from 2009. Among other things, she was celebrated for her performance at the Cannes International Film Festival. Later she played in the action hit “The Man From Nowhere” (2010), which also became great success. This was followed by appearances in the mystery thriller “The Neighbor” (2012) and the drama “Doheee – everyone can run away” (2014) – in addition to numerous other roles in film and television.

Her last known role was in the series “Bloodhounds” by Netflix in 2023. The actress’s career had stalled from 2022. In 2023 she found a court in Seoul guilty of driving a car under the influence of alcohol and causing an accident. Kim had to pay a fine.

After the news of Kim Sae-Ron’s death, numerous Asian celebrities reminded the actress. “May you rest in peace,” wrote, among other things, acting colleague Kim Ok-Bin (38) on social media.
