Prince Harry holds emotional final speech
Prince Harry held a final speech at the Invictus Games in Canada. In it he celebrated the athletes with emotional words.
Prince Harry (40) ended the Invictus Games 2025 with an emotional speech. The Duke of Sussex entered the stage at the final ceremony of the event, which took place in Vancouver and Whistler, and therefore started the Canadian national anthem.
Harry then said: “You did it again. Did we all have fun?” Then he thanked the organizers, authorities, “all Canadians” and the relatives of the athletes. The British Royal is the founder and patron of the sports event for wounded, injured and sick soldiers.
“You give us hope through your healing”
“Those among you, whose path to these games was difficult and uncertain and who doubted whether they would make it here today, I thank you for showing us what is possible,” Harry also said “People” in his speech. “In the endeavor to save yourself, you also saved us all. Those who love you, and those who don’t even know you.”
Prince Harry added: “Being a hero, being a role model, not only has to do with resilience, skill or strength. It’s about integrity, compassion, courage.” He continued: “You give us hope through your healing, honesty and humanity and of course through your humor!” The entire Invictus community makes the world a better place, “and you do it by being as you are,” said Harry.

He also promised that the Invictus Games will continue as long as they are used: “As long as the challenges around us require it, the games will go on,” said Prince Harry, who added with regard to the next issue: “Birmingham 2027. You have permission to celebrate. “
It will be the first time since the opening event in London in 2014 that Harry’s sports event for wounded and sick military personnel will be held in the United Kingdom. Since the opening in London in 2014, the Invictus Games in Orlando (2016), Toronto (2017), Sydney (2018), the Haag (2022) and Düsseldorf (2023) took place.
Prince Harry has lived in California with his wife, Duchess Meghan (43) since 2020. The two have two children together, Archie (5) and Lilibet (3). Meghan had supported her husband in Canada at the Invictus Games for a few days, but used to leave Harry to take care of the children.
