Police assume this cause of death
The South Korean police commented on the cause of the death of actress Kim Sae-Ron. She was found dead in her home.
The film world currently mourns the South Korean actress Kim Sae -Ron (2000 – 2025), who was found dead in her apartment in Seoul on Sunday (February 16). She was only 24 years old. Now the cause of death of the young woman has been determined. According to the Yonhap news agency, the Korean police therefore classify their death as a suicide.
“We believe that she has made an extreme decision and plan to treat it as a suicide,” a police officer is quoted. Sae-Ron did not leave a farewell letter. The actress’s body was discovered by a friend. There were no signs of a crime, the authorities said.
Sae-Ron started her career as a child actress. At first she caused a sensation with her role in the film “A completely new life” from 2009. Among other things, she was celebrated for her performance at the Cannes International Film Festival. Later she played in the action hit “The Man From Nowhere” (2010), which also became great success. This was followed by appearances in the mystery thriller “The Neighbor” (2012) and the drama “Doheee – everyone can run away” (2014) – in addition to numerous other roles in film and television.

Her last known role was in the series “Bloodhounds” by Netflix in 2023. The actress’s career had stalled from 2022. About two years ago, according to media reports, Kim Sae-Ron had largely withdrawn from the public after a conviction for drunkenness at the wheel.
In 2023 she found a court in Seoul guilty of driving a car under the influence of alcohol and causing an accident. Kim had to pay a fine.
