Does anyone remember “Ho ‘me’ a bottle of beer”? 25 years ago, Stefan Raab mounted a Schröder quote into a polka song. Now he is inspired by Merz: “What is Bubatz?”
Moderator Stefan Raab has dedicated a “campaign song” himself composed himself – and took up a quote from the Union Chancellor candidate. Merz had been asked in a live stream whether “Bubatz” remained legal – a word used by young people for cannabis. Merz could obviously do little with the wording and asked: “What is Bubatz?”. For Raab, who recently presented several “election campaign songs” for parties, apparently inspiration.
In his show “You are not winning the million with Stefan Raab” (RTL, RTL+), the moderator announced a “world premiere”. “I do something, but with him – without knowing it,” said Raab about Merz.
“The horny stuff makes us all happy”
The song is entitled “Rambo Zambo”, is a rave song and is prominently incorporated into the text. Raab is on an armchair in the music video and says, for example: “The horny stuff makes us all happy.” Then the video snippet with the counter question: “What is Bubatz?” Raab then: “You know, don’t do that.” And so it goes on. In the chorus you can see Merz again and hear the words: “Really Rambo Zambo here in the house.”
Raab had started presenting “campaign songs” for various parties in his show himself the earlier, as he called the clips. Only he is responsible for the content. In the first wave he had devoted himself to Greens, FDP and SPD. The program runs on Free TV at RTL on Wednesday evening at 8:15 p.m., but can be called up in advance at the streaming service RTL+.
Christian Linder thinks it’s good
However, the new clip is particularly striking because it arouses stronger memories of previous Raab nonsense campaigns. In 2000 he undergone the Gerhard Schröder quote “Ho ‘Mir Ma’ a bottle of beer, otherwise I strike here” with polka sounds and landed a hit. Raab has already dealt extensively artistically with the topic of cannabis – for example in his song “Give the hemp free”. In turn, he used an saying by the former Green politician Hans-Christian Ströbele (1939-2022).
In Raab’s broadcast, FDP boss Christian Lindner was a guest and thus the first eyewitness of the new idea from the Raab cosmos. “I like it,” he said to the Merz song. “But it is a bit of 2005 stylistically.”
