Kevin Spacey reacted to the allegations of his former co-star Guy Pearce with a video message.
Kevin Spacey (65) denies his colleague Guy Pearce (57) on the set of “La Confidential” sexually forced. In one Tuesday on X (formerly Twitter) he asked Pearce to grow up and emphasized that he was not a victim.
Guy Peace: “He targeted me”
In a podcast on the US film magazine “The Hollywood Reporter” Pearce had previously told that Spacey “had” targeted “him during the production of the film classic published in 1997. The then almost 30-year-old actor had become an object of attacking attempts at the set.
“I was somehow afraid of Kevin because he is a rather aggressive man,” said Pearce. “He is extremely charming and brilliant in what he does – really impressive. He has a remarkable influence on a room. But I was young and susceptible, and he has targeted me.”
Kevin Spacey criticizes the way across the media
Spacey does not want to let these allegations sit on: “We worked together a long time ago,” says Spacey in the video directly to Pearce. In it, he criticizes that his former colleague went through the public: “If I had done something at the time, you could have angry you. To speak of the press, which of course follows me now because she wants to know how I react to the things you said. “
He was ready “anytime and everywhere” for a conversation with Guy Pearce. “We can even do it here, live on X, if you want. I have nothing to hide. But Guy – you have to grow up. You are not a victim.”
Meeting in Georgia?
Kevin Spacey also claims that Pearce flown to Georgia about a year after the shooting together, “only to spend time with me”. At that time he made the film “Midnight in the Garden of Gut und Evil”. “I mean, you also told that of the press, or does it not fit into your victim narrative that you chose,” explains the spacey that falls out. “I’m sorry that I didn’t understand the message that you don’t like to spend time with me.” Guy Pearce was apparently on “a mission, 28 years later after going through hell”.
The controversial Oscar winner Spacey has been acquitted in two court proceedings about alleged sexual assaults, but filmmakers are still exhausting with extremely serious accusations against the former star.
