Star -Geiger André Rieu gives his acting debut in “In all friendship – the young doctors” and is enthusiastic in an interview.
From the concert stage directly to the TV studio: Star-Geiger André Rieu (75) fulfilled a special wish and has taken over a guest role in his favorite series “In all friendship-the young doctors”. The episode with the title “Doubt” will be broadcast on February 20 at 6:50 p.m. in the first.
The Dutch and his wife Marjorie Rieu (born 1951) discovered the love of the series during the Corona period. “My wife always recorded one episode at the NDR at noon and we looked at them in the evening. It was really a nice pastime in this difficult time in which we were not allowed to occur,” the Dutch reveals in an interview with the Spot on News news agency.
From fan to the guest star
When his concert tour with the Johann Strauss Orchestra led him to Erfurt, the star musician took the opportunity to visit a set – and was promptly offered a guest role. The filming in the “Johannes Thal Clinic” was a completely new experience for Rieu. “It was really funny, not only the actors, but also the rooms, the operating room, the rooms to see,” he enthuses.
The conductor of the authenticity of the actors was particularly impressed. “The actors were as nice in real life as in the series,” he emphasizes, “and the ‘evil’ but ingenious Dr. Matteo Moreau (played by Mike Adler, 46) was already a cool type”. Even a selfie with Marijam Agischewa (66), the professor Dr. Karin Patzelt embodied, should not be missing. “She is a great actress, very credible in her role as a professor and totally personable,” he recalls.
Back to the music
Despite the positive TV experience, Rieu wants to remain true to his actual calling. “I’m probably the best of the music. She is my great passion,” he explains. He will look at the finished episode together with his wife: “On the couch, of course. She was not there during the recordings and is very excited about my appearance.”
