Hit list for newcomers: Breakthrough Award for Lola Young
The British artist Lola Young is the first place in the breakthrough charts. The new hit list is now characterized by monthly promising newcomers – and should give them more visibility.
More attention for newcomers: The British singer Lola Young (“Messy”) was the first to have been awarded the new Breakthrough Award. From now on, the new ranking lists three artists per month who were particularly successful in the respective month, it was said by GfK Entertainment.
Qualified for the German Breakthrough Artist charts are musicians who have never reached the top 20 of the single charts or the top 50 of the album charts. This also applies to musicians who were part of a band or were first mentioned in a collaboration.
“Every day over 100,000 new songs come onto the market. To get out of this mass, especially as a newcomer act, is an outstanding performance,” said Mathias Giloth, Managing Director of GfK Entertainment. Lola Young (24) conquered the hearts of many people with her unique voice and impressive songs. An artist can also only lead the breakthrough artist charts once his career.
