The American actress Alice Hirson, known from “Dallas” and “Ellen”, died at the age of 95.

The American actress Alice Hirson (1929-2025) is dead. The TV star died of a natural death in Los Angeles at the age of 95. She most recently lived in a senior center and nursing home, as her son David Hirson said.

Great success in TV business

Alice Hirson’s career extended over many decades. She became known to a wide audience primarily through her role of Mavis Anderson in the successful series “Dallas”, in which she was seen in a total of 26 episodes from 1982 to 1988. In the ABC -sitcom “Ellen” she also played a recurring role between 1994 and 1998 – as Lois Morgan, she embodied the mother of the main character played by Ellen Degeneres (67). In the “Full House” series, she was also seen in a few episodes in the 1980s.

Later, Alice Hirson was there in the NBC-sitcom “Home Fires” and from 1996 to 2006 took over the role of Jenny Jackson in “A Heavenly Family”.

The actress was married twice

Alice Hirson, a native of New York, started her career after visiting the “American Academy of Dramatic Arts” at the theater. In 1964 she celebrated her Broadway debut in “Traveler Without Luggage”. At that time she also met her future husband, actor Stephen Elliott (1918-2005), whom she married in the 1980s. He died in 2005.

In addition to her successful TV career, Alice Hirson was seen in some cinema films. For example, she played in “Sagittarius Benjamin” and “Welcome Mr. Chance” alongside Peter Sellers (1925-1980). Alice Hirson also had a role in “The revenge of the egg heads”.
