Timothée Chalamet on Oscar course: Does Hollywood’s darling crack the record?

When Timothée Chalamet (29) stepped over the red carpet of the Berlinale for the first time in 2015, hardly anyone noticed him – a 19 -year -old, curly boy with a lanky figure, who screwed up many auditions at the time. It looks different ten years later: at the Berlinale 2025, he was celebrated frenetically with screeching concerts and flash of lightning and his press conference burst at the seams.

In between there is a career climbing of superlatives: in 2017 he had his breakthrough with the summer Italy drama “Call Me by your name”, in which he seduced the audience and the Academy equally as a young man with awakening sexuality. Then he demonstrated with roles like the drug -addicted son in “Beautiful Boy” and Paul Areides in “Dune” that he is more than Hollywood’s next teenage. Greta Gerwig (41), Woody Allen (89), Wes Anderson (55) and Netflix (“Don’t look”) also secured his presence. At the latest with “Wonka” he became a blockbuster guarantor.

Success brought a new life with it: Chalamet now depends on his great idols, especially rapper Kid Cudi (41), and dates one of the most famous women in the world with Kylie Jenner (27). For two years they have been appearing together at concerts, sports events and award ceremonies, most recently giggling and holding hands on Valentine’s Day in the Berlinale-Kino.

He in 2023 of the intoxication of his career and the attempt to stay on the floor: “You also have to have real experiences. Human experiences. He did not leave any friends or family on the set for the actual shoot, avoided private conversations with co-stars such as Edward Norton (55) and Elle Fanning (26). “I had three months to be Bob Dylan after five years of preparation. At the age of 22, Chalamet for “Call Me by your name” was nominated for an Oscar as the youngest leading actor for 70 years. In February 2025, as the youngest actor of all time, he won the SAG Award for his performance of the Dylan. And on March 3, as the youngest Oscar winner, he could go down in history in the “Best main actor” category.
