A collage by Christian Lindner with a wife and a fictitious ultrasound picture on the “Titanic” displeases the FDP boss. The satirical magazine is calm.
Humor is – actually – if you laugh anyway. However, a representation of the satirical magazine “Titanic” in his January edition did not hit the humor nerve at the still FDP boss Christian Lindner. On the contrary: he currently defends himself legally against the presentation and gave the editors a “media law warning”.
What had happened? Titanic printed a photo collage on issue number one from January this year. Christian Lindner can be seen along with his wife Franca Lehfeldt and an – obviously fictitious – ultrasound picture that is supposed to allude to the upcoming offspring of the two. The presentation is provided with the line: “Baby happiness in the bucket. It becomes a low performer! Lindner makes an urgent application to abolish § 218”.
Christian Lindner sees his personal rights violated
Christian Lindner was unable to laugh about this combination and sent an injunction to the title page through his lawyer Christian Schertz, as the “Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung” (“FAZ”) summarized, which had first reported on the case.
The presentation shown in “its concrete design violates the personal rights” of Schertz ‘clients “, the” FAZ “continued.
The – faked – connection that both spouses received a child, who, however, did not meet their demands and should therefore be abolished, go beyond the freedom of art due to the magazine. The editors’ freedom of expression also does not come into play here, since the human dignity of Lindner, Lehfeldt and the unborn child is affected, the “FAZ” quotes from the letter of attorney.
Meanwhile, the “Titanic” itself gives yourself easy. It is pleased “if retailers do not have to be bored thanks to Titanic. Process planery is a popular, original German hobby, and our dishes are known to be not busy anyway,” commented the editorial team on its homepage. A judicial discussion will therefore not want to avoid. The “Titanic” has retained its humor for the time being. Even if you have “decided on a debt brake, the editorial team sees a possible compensation for pain and sufferingLeave towards “, said the magazine.
