Dramatic turn with Pope Francis. The health state of the Pontifex deteriorated on Friday.
Most recently, some reports from the Vatican faithful voted hopefully in terms of the health of Pope Francis (88). His condition has been slightly improved and the Pontifex “good mood”, it said in the past few days. But on Friday evening, citing the Vatican that the Argentinian had suffered an “isolated respiratory crisis”.
“Sudden deterioration” with Pope Francis
The dramatic incident in the Gemelli Clinic in Rome took place in the afternoon. Francis’ respiratory tract are cramped, the Pope had to vomit and was artificially ventilated. After this “sudden deterioration” of the pope’s breath, the 88-year-old showed a “good reaction” to ventilation. He should also be awake, responsive and oriented at all times.
“The forecast therefore remains reserved,” says the message.
With Pope Francis, slight renal failure had been treated during the week. The Holy Chair has been suffering from a respiratory disease since mid -December. Last week, pneumonia was found in the hospital.
Francis is after Leo XIII. (1810-1903) The second oldest Pope in history. Born in Argentine, he was appointed head of the Catholic Church in 2013 after Pope Benedict XVI. (1927-2022) voluntarily forego the office.
