King Charles III.: Warm reception for Wolodymyr Selenskyj

King Charles III. (76), as planned, met the Ukrainian President Wolodymyr Selenskyj (47) on Sandringham, the private country seat of the British monarch in Norfolk. The reception on the stairs in front of the castle fell cordially: Charles shaken his hand to his guest, for photos the men patched side by side.

Before meeting Charles, Selenskyj said: “I am very happy that his majesty agreed to my meeting tomorrow.” The two had already met in the Buckingham Palace in February 2023 when the 47-year-old was a surprise visit to Great Britain. At that time the king said to him: “We have all been worried about her for so long and think of your country.”

In contrast to US President Donald Trump (78), Charles left his guest choice of clothing. Because even for his visit to the king, Wolodymyr Selenskyj had given up a suit that he has been doing since the beginning of the war. After Trump’s styling engraving at the greeting at the White House on Friday – “he was particularly dressed up today” – there was a memorable verbal exchange of blows in the Oval Office in front of the cameras. Trump and his vice JD Vance (40) had accused Selenskyi disrespectful behavior and almost shouted at him. The visit was canceled.

Just one day before the word battle in the Oval Office, Keir Strander Donald Trump presented an invitation from King Charles to a second ceremonial visit. Politicians and military leaders asked for the scandal to put the preparations for this visit to ice. However, experts from the royal family warned that a cancellation could now embarrass the monarchs. Trump is the first US President to have been invited twice by the Royals. In 2019 he visited the British Royals during his first term at the invitation of Queen Elizabeth II (1926-2022).
