Pierce Brosnan has so far been seen as a secret agent in four Bond films. Could he slip into the role again despite his age?
The crush of women Pierce Brosnan (71) has been embodied by James Bond four times. Could he become a secret agent again? Brosnan seems to feel flattered with such wishes of the fans, but he really doesn’t believe in a comeback.
Brosnan about Bond: “How could I not be interested?”
“Of course I heard about it. How could I not be interested?” Asks Brosnan in one that there are many who would like to see him as an older Bond version. At the same time, the actor explains the figure in the parts of “Goldeneye”, “the tomorrow never dies”, “the world is not enough” and “die die on another day” embodied that this is “a delicate thing”.
Brosnan seems to look at the matter quite realistically: “I think it’s the best to let sleeping dogs rest. It is a romantic idea, but in the end everything changes – nothing stays forever. And that’s a good thing.” According to him, the “James Bond” series live from “that new blood comes into play”.
Who will be Daniel Craig’s successor?
This fresh blood must still be officially found with “no time to die” from 2021 after the bond party by Daniel Craig (57). Numerous names have been circulating for years. Aaron Taylor-Johnson (34), Paul Mescal (29) and finally Stuart Martin (39) have been brought into play as potential successors. Last year Brosnan said about Taylor-Johnson that “the stuff and the talent and the charisma to play bond”.
It was not until February that Barbara Broccoli (64) and Michael G. Wilson (83) have given creative control over the agent franchise and in the future Amazon MGM Studios will provide the artistic direction of new 007 films.
