“I will always love you”: Country icon Dolly Parton spoke up after the death of her husband Carl Thomas Dean.
Dolly Parton’s husband Carl Thomas Dean died on March 3 at the age of 82. After almost 60 years of marriage, the 79-year-old singer, whose biggest hit “Jolene” (1973) was once inspired by her husband, mourns public and thanks you for the lively sympathy.
“This is a declaration of love for family, friends and fans,” wrote the country singer, whom she published on Thursday. “Thanks for all the news, cards and flowers that you have sent to pay your respect for the loss of my beloved husband Carl.” You cannot thank everyone personally, but the fans should know “that it meant the world to me”.
“He is now in God’s arms and I agree,” writes Parton. In the last words of her contribution, she refers to her 1974 hit “I will Always Love You”, which was covered by Whitney Houston (1963-2012): “I will always love you.”
“Words cannot do justice to love”
The singer sincerely thanked his death for the sympathy: “Carl and I spent many wonderful years together. Words of love that we shared for more than 60 years cannot do justice to. Thanks for your prayers and your sympathy.”
Dolly Parton and the building contractor Carl Thomas Dean married in May 1966 after getting to know each other in front of a laundromat in 1964, exactly on the day she moved to Nashville to make music there.
