Lady Gaga was supported by her fiance in a difficult time. This immediately noticed how much better she could be.
Popstar Lady Gaga (38) spoke openly about the handling of her fiance Michael Polansky with her mental health. She told the daily newspaper “The New York Times” that she suffered from psychoses five years ago and “had no deep contact with reality” for a while. When she was getting better, she met Polansky. He told her “pretty early”: “I know that you could be much happier than you are,” recalled the pop star.
“It was really difficult for me to hear him, because I didn’t want him to think of me. I wanted him to think I was a happy, totally balanced person,” said Gaga. She raved about Polansky that from the start he had “the most warmest and friendliest charisma” that she had ever experienced.
“I had a real friend”
Since the time around her album “Chromatica”, she has been doing better, as she explained. Her partner also took care of this. It went uphill, “because I had a real friend who saw how unhappy I was and why,” said Gaga. “And he was not afraid to really hold my hand and get to know me. On a very deep level,” said the pop icon.
Lady Gaga has been using her voice for several years to draw attention to the importance of mental health. She also employed the topic professionally: the music film “A Star is Born” (2018), in which she was nominated for her role with an Oscar, is about alcohol addiction and suicide. In her Grammy speech, she said in 2019: “Many artists have to do with it and we have to take care of each other. So if you see someone who is doing badly, don’t look away.” The musician also encouraged those affected to entrust themselves with other people.
Gaga and Polansky got to know each other in 2019 and got started in 2024. Gaga does not want to provide any information about a planned wedding with her partner – but she recently said that she believes that it would be the most beautiful day in her life. She also revealed that she absolutely wanted to be a mother.
