The Drombusch family was a real street sweeper in the 80s and 90s. How did the stars of the ZDF series go on afterwards?

Hans Peter Korff (1942-2025) died at the age of 82 ,. But what did the other stars of “This Drombuschs”, or the actors of the street sweeper at that time, which were one of the most famous TV faces in Germany in the 1980s and 1990s?

Hans Peter Korff played Siegfried Drombusch

Korff played family man Siegfried “Sigi” Drombusch. The actor, who died on Sunday night, was seen during his long career in countless roles at the theater, in the cinema and on TV. Among them were several “crime scene” appearances before and after the Drombuschs, Uncle Heini in “News from Uhlenbusch” or even Uncle Hellmuth in Loriots (1923-2011) classic “Pappa Ante Portas”. Many other engagements followed in the 2000s, including in popular series and rows such as “The Dream Ship”, “The Bull of Tölz” or “Veterinarian Dr. Mertens”. He also took a seat behind the microphone in the years before his death. Witta Pohl played Vera Drombusch

Family mother Vera Drombusch was embodied by Witta Pohl (1937-2011). With the role she became the nation’s TV mother. Grete Wurm (1919-2002) gave Margarethe, the grandma of the Drombusch family. The actress, which was already somewhat elderly at the time, made her debut at the theater and in the film in the 1940s. Wurm also worked as a radio spokeswoman. After the Drombuschs, at least in front of the camera it became very quiet. She had one of her last TV roles in an episode of “Die Wache” in 2000.

Günter Strack played Ludwig Burlitz

One of the then biggest names in the Drombusch was that of Günter Strack (1929-1999). Strack, who played Ludwig Burlitz, had an extremely broad repertoire and gave a wide variety of figures at the theater, in film and television – there should have been more than 400 roles. In addition to “these drombuschs”, his best -known productions were certainly the series “a case for two” and “with body and soul”. His last big series role was the one in the series “The King”, in which he embodied the eponymous main character. Strack died of heart failure in 1999 at the age of 69.

Sabine Kaack played Marion Drombusch

“My figure of the Drombusch subsidiary Marion was an emancipated woman, a single mother, rebellious and unadjusted. She was a role model for young women of the time,” said Sabine Kaack (67) of a “this drombus” fan meeting. The actress and spokeswoman breathed a lot of other figures on stage and in front of the cameras after the series. These included characters in the cult comedy “Bang Boom Bang – A Maintain Comment”, in “Our Charly” or the female leading role in “Kalle comes”.

Marion Kracht played Bettina Drombusch

Bettina Drombusch, also “Tina”, was played by Marion Kracht (62). Professionally, the actress, author and director has a lot to do today – from the successful series “Babylon Berlin” to Dani Levys (67) parody “My Führer” to the “Usedom -Krimi”. On March 17th, the thriller “Escape from Lisbon”, in which it plays a role, also runs on ZDF. “The series was shot in parallel to our own growing up and also shaped our private life,” she recalled “these drombus” during the fan meeting mentioned.

Mick Werup played Christoph Drombusch

Mick Werup (1958-2011) became known as Christoph “Chris” Drombusch. After the series, only a few roles followed for the actor, who had volunteered according to media reports. Werup, who temporarily lived in India, mostly withdrew from acting, for the last time he was seen on the screen in 1998 in an episode of “Der Fahner”. In 2011 he committed suicide.

Constanze Engelbrecht played Brigitte Sanders

Constanze Engelbrecht (1955-2000) played the Brigitte Sanders at “This Drombuschs”. After the series, she appeared in “Derrick”, “Praxis Bülowbogen” or “A case for two” and had engagements in productions with international stars – such as in “The Count of Monte Christo” with Gérard Depardieu (76) and Ornella Muti (70) or in “Like a light in dark night” with Michael Douglas (80). In 2000 she died at the age of just 50 after a long cancer.

Eike Schweikhardt played Thomas Drombusch

The Nesthäkchen Thomas “Thomi” Drombusch was played by Eike Schweikhardt (52). The Drombuschs made him famous, but as an actor he has not been active for a long time. It pulled him behind the camera. He is a graduate cameraman and has been an academic employee in the Cinematography course since 2016. He has been working as a freelance cameraman since 2004 and, among other things, belonged to the team of the Tom Tykwer film “The Warrior and the Empress” with Franka Potente (50).
