Carrie-Anne Moss: Child was “Matrix” star more important than a career

Carrie-Anne Moss (57) has been seen in film and television for more than three decades. She celebrated her big breakthrough in 1999 with today’s sci-fi classic “Matrix” in the role of Trinity. Afterwards there were several sequels and she also got roles in films such as “Chocolat – a little bit” or in the “Star Wars” series “The Acolyte”, but the actress never made it into the ranks of the very big stars. In a new interview, Moss explains that she preferred to take care of her family.

Carrie-Anne Moss has also been married to her colleague Steven Roy (58) since 1999. The two have three children together, two of whom have grown up. The Canadian native also worked with young children, but the career was never the most important thing for her. “After ‘Matrix’ was such a great success, I took a big, big break to get children and be with them,” she recalls in.

“Man, I am offered such great things. That would be such a big deal,” she thought at first, but the doubts soon evaporated. At the time, she asked herself with her child in her arms what is more important to her: “Will it be important to me at the end of my life that another film is in my resume? Or will it be important to me that I have held my baby in my arms?” The answer was simple: “And I’m so happy that I did it. I’m so glad that I don’t have to regret it.” It may look a little different with the career, “but it was the best decision I have ever made in my life”.
