Eva Longoria: “Desperate Housewives” star is 50 years old

Eva Longoria (50) has been a fixture in the acting industry for decades. In contrast to many of her colleagues, her career began comparatively late. But she became all the more successful, especially through her role in “Desperate Housewives”. On March 15, Eva Longoria celebrates her 50th birthday.

Eva Jacqueline Longoria grew up as the youngest of four sisters on a ranch in Corpus Christi, Texas. After the high school, she made her bachelor’s degree in kinesiology, an alternative medical healing method. It was only after graduating that she took part in a talent competition that paved her way to Los Angeles.

The first small appearances in “Beverly Hills, 90210” and “General Hospital” followed. A year later, she received a role in the “Shadow of Passion” series, into which she slipped from 2001 to 2003. Longoria then celebrated her big breakthrough in 2004 with “Desperate Housewives”. In the TV series that is still popular today, she played the role of Gabrielle Solis for eight seasons, which brought her international fame. For her representation of the ex-model, Longoria was nominated several times for various prices and finally awarded the People’s Choice Award as the “Favorite Female TV Star”.

Longoria has also been a producer since 2010, including for the drama series “Devious Maids – dirty secrets” and the feature film “John Wick”. As a director, she also gained experience: after episodes of “Jane the Virgin” and “Black-Is”, in 2023 she gave her feature film debut with the biographical comedic drama “Flamin ‘Hot” on the director. Incidentally, she pushed her school again in 2013 and made her master in “Chicano Studies”, the history and culture of Mexican-born Americans.

While Longoria celebrated many successes in her career, it was not always so round in her private life: from 2002 to 2004 she was married to actor Tyler Christopher (1972-2023). Her second marriage to basketball player Tony Parker (42) should also fail: four years after her wedding, the couple divorced in 2011. This was followed by relationships with Penelope Cruz ‘brother, Eduardo Cruz (40), and football player Mark Sanchez (38), but Longoria also gave them the pass.

With the producer José Bastón (56), the 50-year-old now seems to have found her great luck: after her engagement in December 2015, they married in May of the following year. Her son Santiago (6) saw the light of day on June 19, 2018.
