Ben Affleck offers an insight into private life
Jennifer Lopez ‘ex-man Ben Affleck revealed as part of a festival appearance why he is happy to have only a few friends.
Actors and filmmakers Ben Affleck (52) recently caused impact dots with his divorce by Jennifer Lopez (55). At the South by Southwest Festival in Texas, however, the Hollywood star and Oscar winner now offered an insight into a completely different private area of his life. Affleck that, apart from his long -time buddy Matt Damon (54) he doesn’t have many friends in the entertainment industry – and that is “a nice thing”.
Ben Affleck: “You need good friends”
“You know that I don’t have a lot of friends,” the Affleck, as a grumpy, continued his thoughts. In his opinion, nobody has “really a lot of friends. You don’t need a million friends”. Instead, every person needs “a few” friends. “You need good ones,” says the star from success films like “Gone Girl” or “Argo” literally.
The fact that Matt Damon for Affleck has been well known for decades. After all, the Hollywood greats have known each other since childhood and were once introduced by their mothers.
Common Oscar for “Good Will Hunting”
Later, as an aspiring actor in Hollywood, they shared an account to help each other financially. The big breakthrough came in 1997 with the moving drama “Good Will Hunting”, to which Damon and Affleck together wrote the Oscar-winning script.
“I’m really lucky to be in Matt,” said the two-time Oscar winner Affleck at the South by Southwest Festival. Oscar winner Matt Damon also had that Affleck was one of the three most important people in his life – besides wife Luciana Barroso (48) and a friend of a friend.
At the South by Southwest Festival, Affleck presented “The Accountant 2”, which he produced together with Damon about the production company Artists Equity founded by both stars.
