The death of US actor Gene Hackman and his wife Betsy Arakawa gave up many puzzles. Most now seem to be solved. Now it is also known what dog Zinna died from.
Gene Hackman’s dog is well thirsty. This is the result of an autopsy about which the news transmitter ABC reported. The dog named Zinna was found dead in a couple’s house at the end of February, just like the acting and his fau Betsy Arakawa.
There were no signs of infection, injury or poison for the dog, the report says from the ABC. His stomach was practically empty except for a small amount of hair and bile. If the dog was in a limited space without access to food or water, it was “most likely thirsted/starved,” the report says. On the property in Santa Fe in the US state of New Mexico, two dogs had also been discovered that were still alive.
Investigators had announced a week ago that Hackman and Arakawa had died of a natural death. The 65-year-old Arakawa probably died of a disease triggered by so-called Hantaviruses. The 95-year-old actor probably succumbed to cardiovascular disease a week later. “It may well be that he was not aware of her death,” said medical investigator Heather Jarrell.
