Sila Sahin’s double surcharge: She not only turns for the “dream ship”, but also presents her new shoe collection.
For Sila Sahin (39), two dreams are currently fulfilled. The actress not only got a role on the “dream ship”, she also launches her third shoe collection with “Palado by Sila Sahin”. “I love shoes, I inherited that from my father,” reveals the mother of two in an interview and also gives an insight into the “dream ship” turning work, for which she had to master a special challenge.
With its new shoe collection and your role in the “dream ship”, 2025 seems to go as much as 2024?
Sila Sahin: Of course I really appreciate this and would not have expected that the new year would start again with such big projects. I am incredibly pleased that my shoe collection is so well received and is already going into the third round – I am very grateful for that.
They are just back from the “dream ship” turning work. Can you tell us something about your role?
Sahin: I can say to my role that I played them as authentically as possible. My role was older than I was, it was a nice challenge to make myself older, because I often come across younger than I am.
Many actors dream of engagement on the “dream ship”. Does this also come true for you?
Sahin: Honestly I never expected that I would play with the “dream ship”. However, I knew Wolfgang Rademann personally. I still remember a meeting at Café Kranzler in Berlin, which impressed me very much. At that time he had brought newspaper clippings from me and told me that he thought about me and would be happy if I played along. In fact, I also took on a smaller role – at that time only ashore. I am all the more pleased that I was now allowed to turn the ship. Rademann was an icon of German television and it is nice to be able to commemorate him again with my participation.
And of course it is an incredible experience: within a short period of time I was able to see New Zealand and other great countries. These are experiences that not many can make in such a short time. But it’s not only a dream, but also a big challenge – especially as a mom of two boys.
You can fulfill another dream with your own shoe collection. What are your personal favorite parts of the new spring collection?
Sahin: There are so many beautiful and trendy models in the new collection that I find it difficult to set me up. I think the modern mules Arrus and the stylish sandal brutees with platform sole are particularly great. The latter in particular did it to me-they are available in a trendy jeans look or in a beautiful beige tone with sparkling rhinestones and are definitely among my favorite models from the “Palado by Sila Sahin” spring/summer collection.
How many pairs of shoes do you have at home yourself? Like millions of women, do you also have a shoe stick worldwide?
Sahin: Yes, absolutely! I love shoes, I inherited that from my father – he also had a shoe stick. Shoes are actually what I prefer to buy, especially high heels and sandals.
Would you like to design other things?
Sahin: Yes, definitely! I could well imagine designing swimwear, pajamas or even wedding dresses.
What projects have you planned for this year?
Sahin: A big goal for this year is to work on my own script and hopefully to sell it successfully to a studio or a broadcaster.
Is there a reunion at “AWZ” or at the Karl May games in Bad Segeberg this year?
Sahin: No, there will be no reunion in the Karl May games this year. The special thing about this production is that the main actors – with the exception of Winnetou – change every year. It was a big exception that I was there a second time. A return to “Everything counts” is currently not planned because it would be connected to a move to Cologne – and that is currently not up for me.
