Princess Kate celebrates an emotional comeback: after her cancer diagnosis, she is back at St. Patrick’s Day Parade of Irish Guards.
Princess Kate (43) has returned to one of her favorite events: with a bright smile and in an elegant green ensemble, she continued her return to the royal duties at St. Patrick’s Day. It was her first appearance at the traditional celebration since her cancer diagnosis, which she had made public in March 2024.
Prince William’s wife (41) visited the Wellington barracks in London in her role as an honorary regimental commander of the Irish Guards, making a long royal tradition on the most important Irish holiday. Kate presented himself in a good mood in a dark green coat from Alexander McQueen, combined with a headgear and a cloverleaf brooch.
Kleetlätter and drinks for the Irish Guards
At the parade, Kate, following the tradition, presented fresh clover leaves to officers and non -commissioned officers of the regiment. Even the regimental mascot, the Irish wolfhound Turlough Mor alias Seamus, was infected with a cloverleaf on his red festive coat. Prince William took over the position as regimental commander in 2022.
During the event, she also had a particularly generous gesture for the guards: reported, Kate donated drinks for the soldiers. That is “the least you can do”.
Honor for deserved soldiers
As part of the ceremony, Princess Kate saluted during a pre -abuse for the Guards and met with veterans and cadets from Northern Ireland, the so -called “Mini Micks”. In a private ceremony in the menu of the team rates, the guards spoke a toast to their commander. Meanwhile, the 43-year-old sipped Ireland-typical at a Pint Guinness.
The princess also took the opportunity to give medals for long -term loyalty services and good amounts to soldiers who have received their commitment to the army. She also met families of soldiers who had recently returned from Iraq. In a speech in front of the soldiers and their relatives, Kate admitted that she “missed” it to take part in the ceremony last year.
After her successful cancer treatment, the princess gradually returns to her public duties. In 2024 she could not celebrate St. Patrick’s Day because of her illness. Afterwards, she apologized to the Irish Guards: “It remains a great honor to be your colonel, and I am very sorry that I cannot accept the testimony at the Colonel’s review this year. Please send my apology to the entire regiment, but I very much hope to be able to represent them again soon,” it said.
