Almost a year after she made her cancer diagnosis public, Kate shows himself again at the Irish Guards parade for the St. Patrick’s Day. After that, she treats herself a Guinness.
Green outfit and clover leaves: The British Princess Kate (43) has shown itself to the St. Patrick’s Day at the traditional parade of the Irish Guards in London. Last year, the woman of heir to the throne, Prince William (42), had had to do without for health reasons. Only days later she made her cancer diagnosis public.
In the meantime, she has completed her chemotherapy and gradually perceives public appointments. Kate has been the Irish Guards Colonel since 2023, one of the regiments of the royal bodyguard. She took over the role from her husband.
Petting unit for the Irish wolfhound
Kate presented himself for the parade in the Wellington Baracks in London on Monday in the green outfit with a pin in the form of a golden cloverleaf and a tuft clover in the breast pocket.
She also presented cloverbushes to several soldiers. There was also a royal stroking unit for the Irish Guards mascot, the Irish Wolfhund Turlough Mor, which is also called Seamus.
According to the British news agency PA, Kate even treated himself to a Guinness with the soldiers after the parade – but only a small one. They then praised the queen in a float. “She was really nice and very warm. I was a bit excited. You could see that she had real interest in us,” said Guardsman Barry Loughin PA.
The national saint of Ireland is commemorated on St. Patrick’s Day. According to the Irish radio broadcaster RTé, half a million people were expected at the traditional street parade in the Irish capital Dublin. The day is also committed in Northern Ireland, which belongs to the United Kingdom. In the Northern Irish capital Belfast, tens of thousands of celebrations were expected on the streets.
