On the death of Anna R.: That was the biggest hits from Rosenstolz

Rosenstolz have been among the formative German acts of the past decades. The duo, consisting of Peter Plate (57) and Anna R. (1969-2025), has published countless songs and many albums since the 1990s, which were later often found at the top of the charts.

The first song of the two, which caused a sensation in the charts, was “heart -beautiful” according to the market research company. At that time, the duo took part in the song on the German preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest and took second place. In the single charts, “Herzenschöner” reached his top position with 34th place in 1998 and kept for nine weeks.

Even after that, many albums and singles were able to secure a placement. In 2004 “Heart” grabbed the number one for the albums and even stayed in the charts for 59 weeks. On the plate there is one of the most famous songs of the duo with “Love is everything”, which, however, never fully made it to the singles and reached sixth place.

Rosenstolz were able to stay in the charts with the album “Das Große” published in 2006 in 2006 – one and 116 weeks, more than two years. Another big hit of the duo, “I am (we are)”, who made it to the singles to the silver medal is included.

And the albums “The search continues” (2008) and “We are alive” (2011) later landed at the top of the podium. Among other things, “The search goes” comes the hit “Give me sun”, with which Peter Plate and Anna R. were also able to climb the absolute tip at the singles. “We are on life”, the eponymous track of the studio album published in 2011, made it to the three.

The last Rosenstolz song, which made it into the single lists, was “song of the forgotten”. Also contained on “We are in life”, the song was published in 2012 as a single – in the year when the duo had announced a break for an indefinite period. Later the song “If it starts now” appeared, but it was not a new music, but a previously unpublished song.

Plate, which was also published on the group’s profile, remembers the time together. “My favorite Anna, I will never forget our first evening together. We drank sparkling wine, you told me that you wanted to be a jazz singer, and I wanted to do pop music.” In exactly this night, the two of them would have already recorded a song with him. Plate was “enraptured by your voice, of your way of singing, from your gift, each of our songs to wrap into the most beautiful colors. […] Rosenstolz was one of the most beautiful times of my life. Rosenstolz, that was you and me. And now you are no longer there. “
