Anna R. became known as a duo Rosenstolz next to Peter Plate National. But how did the musician come to her special artist name? There was also a misunderstanding behind it.
With her band partner Peter Plate, Anna R. sang love and great feelings for over two decades. The musician died completely surprisingly at the age of 55. “Anna, you will be missing. My whole life, my years in Berlin – all of this was connected to you. Rosenstolz was one of the most beautiful times of my life. Rosenstolz, that was you and me. And now you are no longer there,” said Plate on Instagram. He also called her on the net with her stage name – Anna. But how did the singer get to it?

Anna R. was born as Andrea Rosenbaum. In 2013 she told the “Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung”, as she decided at the beginning of her career to name Anna R. from then on. “In 1992 – at the beginning of my career – I thought in my youthful delusion about having to give signatures at some point. So one evening I sat down and practiced signatures,” said the singer at the time. “I found the big n in the name very pretty,” she revealed. This was followed by a little misunderstanding on the Internet. “From this, Wikipedia later constructed me a second first name about which my mother and I still have a lot of fun,” said Anna R.

Because she wrote the second N in her name, it was a long time to read on Wikipedia that she would called Andrea Natalie Rosenbaum with a native name. The capital letter actually had no special reason and was created out of a mood. “Someone came up with this who apparently wanted to give the big n meaning,” she revealed.
After her marriage in 2002, Rosenbaum changed her last name and accepted her husband’s name, MTV producer and director Nilo Neuenhofen. According to the “Bild” newspaper, Neuenhofen died two years before Anna R.. The two are said to have already been separated but friends.
